The Man of Iron, the Young Wolf, and the Farseer - Chapter I

“Did you know that Toland the Shattered was actually EXILED from the tower? Simply for studying the Darkness, that’s—“ “Bound to drive any sane person mad.” Tyson groans as he finished his last push-up in a set of a hundred. He scoots into a sitting position on the concrete, glancing over to where Nathan sat, a few paces away, with one of his books in hand.  With a smirk, Tyson attempts to lighten the mood. “But you’re not a sane person, are you?” He chuckles, resting his arms over his knees as he lets his aching muscles rest for the time being. "You know as well as I do that Toland's research drove him to insanity. You can't have someone like that around here. Word of that gets to the Last City and the people are thrown into panic and fear..."  “Perhaps it’s me who is saner than any person on this Tower or the Last City. You could all be the mad ones.” Nathan shot back, though he couldn’t help but chuckle too, looking down at his book once again. “I don’t

Enjoy!))  Chapter X                 “What were you thinking?!” King William snarls, tossing the princess into her room after slamming the door behind him. “Were you trying to get yourself killed?! Do you even understand how dangerous that was?!”             “I had it all under control, my liege!”             “You stupid girl!” He shouts.             “I killed one of the most notorious slave traders in all of the Kingdoms!” Lana tried to reason.             “If I wanted him dead, he would have been!”             “He was torturing those people! I was not going to let death take them!”                                        “You are not some s

Chapter IX             “GET DOWN!” Luke called to his soldiers, ducking as the wyvern let out another breath of fire. The beast was relentless, he’d give it that much. Rising to his feet, he swung the axe, the tip of the blade managing to slice through the wyvern’s snout. The monster screeched with pain, flapping its wings several times before flames erupted.             “Lukas!” Kaiser shouts, running to aid his fellow King. He holds up his shield, the flames bouncing off the iron and heating it to the point where holding it was unbearable. With a yelp, he tucks down and moves out of the way, dropping the shield baring his sigil of a bear. He looks at his scorched palm, cursing under his breath.             “It’s no use, the fiend will not quit! We must retreat!” Lukas shouts, waving his battleaxe warningly at the wyvern.             “We will not! The Beast King must know his place! Slay the beast!” The Iron King swipes his sword at the menace, hollering. “FOUL CREATURE! LE

Chapter VIII

Chapter VIII             David sat in his study, planning his next strategic move against the Iron Kingdom . His dark eyes skimmed a map of the realms, fixing on the Vindico/Diruo border. Surely he could take the Iron Kingdom at any moment, but he decided he should wait. Wait until King Kaiser had hope back in his clutches before yanking it away from him once again. With a sigh, he ran his hands down the map though the faint sound of footsteps causing him to glance over his shoulder. He spun around, his brow knitting in confusion.             “Who goes there?” He called out, placing his hand over the hilt of his sword.             “Come on, are you really going to use that?” Her voice lingers beside his ear and he swears he feels her hot breath on his neck from behind. She grins, her own hand wrapping around the sword. “Perhaps it is my turn to impale you?” Lana laughs, walking towards his front.             “Do not touch my sword.” He hisses, though keeps his gazed fixe

Chapter VII

Chapter VII             Sir Leonidas The Reckless did not cry. He hadn’t when his pet died when he was just a boy. He hadn’t when he’d broken his arm falling out of a tree. He had shown a moment of weakness in the dungeons of Diruo, though the tears hadn’t left his eyes then. However, this time… he could not seem to stop the tears from streaming down his cheeks. He half expected her to sit upright, pulling the ultimate prank on him. The blood would rush to her cheeks when she realized he was staring at her and she would laugh… that musical laugh… that would never grace his ears again. “Idiot.” She’d say, wearing that grin. His boots scraped against the broken path, clutching the limp body close against him. The Iron castle comes into the sightline and it is at that moment that he breaks down, burying his face into dark ringlets. He doesn’t dare to stop walking, even if his pace faltered slightly. “I failed you.” He whispers into chestnut locks, unable to contain his sobs. “I w
